At the provincial level Skills Canada BC has designed an event that allows the participants to receive recognition for their skills. The contests are practical challenges designed to test skills required in trades and technology occupations. Regional gold medalists may have an opportunity to move on and represent their provincial region at the provincials.

The following skills competitions will take place: 2D Computer Animation, Automotive Collision Repair, Baking, Hairdressing, Electrical Wiring, IT - Network Systems Administration, Masonry, & Robotics
